Archduke Arrives to Oversee Ianic Commission

Archduke Norris arrived here today to take charge of the commission to resolve the situation at Ianic (1924 Spinward Marches; E3606E9-5). He is expected to appoint Dame Arahani, daughter of the Duke of Adabicci, to the title of Marquis of Ianic. She is currently chairing the Ianic commission, which has reportedly already made major progress towards determining the future of the rich desert world. The mere fact that Tukera Lines, LIC has now complied with the rulings of the Duke -- including reparations of 5,000 MCr -- indicates the extent of Dame Arahani's influence.

Currently trade with the Ianic system is being handled by a new corporation set up by the commission -- Ianic Stellar Trading Reserve -- with goods being carried on ships of both Tukera Lines and Imperiallines, LIC at rates fixed by ISTR.

It is expected that the Archduke will spend several weeks with the commission before making any announcement.
