Aerolift: a mode of spacecraft flight in which aerodynamic lift is in effect.  "Going into aerolift" is a phrase a pilot uses to indicate that he is now controlling the craft by atmospheric controls rather than by contragrav.  Aerolift is usually only attained by airframe craft.

A good pilot can sometimes put a streamlined craft into aerolift by controlling attitude and thrust.  This is a sought-after talent for gas giant refuelling, as it not only saves on fuel but allows a ship to descend further into the atmosphere than can be supported by its contragrav units.  Refuelling in denser atmosphere reduces the time required and thus limits the craft's exposure to potential atmospheric hazards.
