Hope's End
-
The dome has several vehicle and personnel entrances in addition to the
starport (and cargo) entry-way.
Scheduled Flights
-
The planet is served by a subsidized merchant route that arrives every
ten days, leaving on days ending in a 3. Time in port depends on
jump time. There are several ships that serve the route, travelling
from Duale (0308 Mora) to Strouden (0707 Lunion) and back,
calling in briefly at Tivid (0207 Mora) and Drolraw (0806
Lunion) on the way.
The Deep Valleys
The rumors are true. The bottom of the deep canyons that crack the
featureless plain do in fact contain atmosphere, a thin category 2.
It can be breathed by humans, but is sufficient for sedentary activties
only. Any exertion requires a respirator.
The canyons all contain a river of water, merely being a surface extension
of underground water channels. Free-running river water is generally
potable, but the stagnant pools that occur on the valley floor are teeming
with parasites and bacteria.
This environment does indeed support a surprising amount of life, both
flora and fauna.
The Reindogs
-
Good burrowers, have some tunnels connecting close valleys, and expanding
the underground water passages.
-
Good spacial memory.
-
Can swim well.
-
Adapted well to handling low air pressure. Can handle vacuum for
short periods of time, up to 30 minutes. Lungs adapt to wide range
of pressures and oxygen content. Organ that stores oxygen and regulates
blood oxygen.
-
Primarily carnivorous.
-
Environment is one of plentiful food, and low population pressure.
-
Very social creatures, pack structure,
-
Hunt in packs with strategy and pre-planning.
-
Fairly long life in the wild.
-
Antlers are actually psionic "antenna". This helps with pinpointing
and scanning for Life Detection and so on.

Roughly german shepherd in appearance, tan to grey in color. This
blends in well with the surroundings of bush, forest, grassland, and bare
earth.

Low birth rate.

Four legs. No opposable thumbs. Not tool users as such (cf
Chimp).
-
Concept of individuality.
-
Not at all related to life forms on other worlds.

Very intuitive sort of reasoning rather than logical.

Surface thoughts are not really read as such; motivations and attitudes
can be picked up. This will certainly help with being able to understand
people regardless of language difficulties.
-
Senses are acute. Hearing and smell in particular are very good.
Sight is normal.
